More Senior Lawyers Join Nnamdi Kanu’s Legal Team.

Nnamdi Kanu’s defence team continues to grow as his trial proceeds at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The IPOB leader faces terrorism charges brought by the Federal Government. His legal team now includes more senior advocates and respected legal scholars.

On Thursday, SAN Paul Esokoro and Dr. P.K. Obi joined the defence team.
Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s Special Counsel, shared the update before the day’s hearing.
He also noted that the prosecution would continue its case during the session.

Ejimakor mentioned that cross-examination might face delays due to time limits. He warned that another adjournment could be necessary. So far, the court has heard from two prosecution witnesses.

Earlier this week, four other SANs joined the defence team. They include Prof. Onyechi Ikpeazu, Emeka Etiaba, Mela Audu Nunghe, and Joseph Akubo. This brings the total number of top lawyers on Kanu’s team to eight.

Justice James Omotosho presides over the ongoing trial. The prosecution has presented recorded broadcasts as part of its evidence.
